NRVC office closed MLK day

The NRVC office will be closed on January 17, 2022 as the United States honors the birth, life, and dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We remember the injustices that Dr. King opposed, and his nonviolent fight for the freedom, equality, and dignity of all races and peoples.

Dr. King was born on January 15, 1929, and murdered on April 4, 1968. He brought together more than 200,000 people in the March on Washington, D.C. in August 1963 where he delivered his famous, “I Have a Dream” speech. In 1964, at the age of 35, he was the youngest man and the third black man to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a national holiday designated as a day of service to empower individuals, strengthen communities, and bridge barriers. Together we strive to create solutions to social problems and so move closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “Beloved Community.”
