Misericordia Scholarship

Financial Assistance for Members

Because we at NRVC believe in what do, we want to welcome all NRVC vocation ministers to our mission of promoting vocations to religious life.

The Misericordia Fund, initiated during the Year of Consecrated Life in 2015, provides scholarships for NRVC membership and programming to religious institutes that otherwise could not afford them, including attending Summer/Fall Institute and Convocation.

How to apply for a scholarship

In 2022, we awarded 31 communities with scholarships. Since 2015, NRVC members have provided 244 Misericordia scholarships totaling $152,0000 for NRVC members. This is a tremendous blessing that we pray continues to give financial assistance with membership fees and workshop fees due to the generosity of NRVC members and benefactors who have donated to the Misericordia Fund. Click here to review the guidelines for application.

To apply for financial assistance for membership or attendance at workshops, please complete this Misericordia Fund Online application form

Gratitude for assistance

The NRVC Misericordia Fund has assisted our congregation to assist with our membership fees and allows us to stay connected to the National Religious Vocation Conference. This relationship affords us the opportunity to stay fully informed throughout the year. We are grateful for the ongoing resources that benefit the discerners we serve, as well as the men in formation within our community.

Our community has been a recipient of the NRVC Misericordia grant for the past two years.  This generous assistance has enabled us to become members of the National Religious Vocation Conference which we otherwise would not have been able to afford.  The benefits of joining the NRVC have exponentially exceeded our expectations, which we would never have been able to realize without the most generous gift of the Misericordia Fund.  The resources and opportunities that are available to NRVC members have been extremely valuable to our community and we are now able to be a part of the larger Church in the promotion of religious vocations.

National Fund for Catholic Religious Vocations

Applications open January 5 and ending April 17

NFCRV Mission

The National Fund for Catholic Religious Vocations (NFCRV) serves as a sign of hope for the future of consecrated life and is dedicated to increasing the number of women and men entering religious communities. NFCRV hopes to accomplish this goal by:

■ Offering financial assistance to religious institutes so that they may accept candidates who have student loan obligations.

■ Assisting congregations in developing policies and resources so that they may work effectively with those who have educational debt.

■ Inviting contributors to invest so that the vital legacy of religious life continues for the Church and the world.

The Fund awards grants based on need. Any canonically recognized religious institute with membership in the National Religious Vocation Conference may apply for a grant to service a candidate’s educational debt during formation.

Grant application open Jan. 5 to Apr. 17, 2023

Please be reminded NRVC members are eligible if:

1. Your current NRVC dues are paid.

2. You have not received a prior year grant.

3. You have a current candidate with college debt who has not yet entered your order/institute.

Full guidelines and online application can be found at NFCRV.org

Application Process

The NFCRV Board meets annually to award grants. Application deadlines will vary each year, so please review the grant guidelines. You will receive confirmation of receipt of your application and will be notified regarding the decision of the NFCRV Board after its annual spring meeting.

Ensuring email delivery

Try these tips if you are not receiving our monthly emails

In addition to the monthly newsletter, Focus on Ministry and Catalyst mid-month update, the NRVC emails periodic broadcasts regarding upcoming events and other news.

If you are not receiving email broadcasts from the NRVC, the first step is to make sure that we have your correct email address.  You can verify that we have your correct email address by logging into your account.  If we have an incorrect email address simply click “edit information” to update your address.

If your email address is correct and you have stopped receiving emails from NRVC you may have inadvertently opted out of our email broadcast system.  This sometimes occurs when you forward an email to someone (instead of using the "share" function at the bottom of the email broadcast) and the recipient then opts out of the email, not realizing that the email was forwarded from you.

Because of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) once an individual elects to opt out, we, the NRVC, cannot re-subscribe the person to the NRVC email broadcast system.  To re-subscribe to the NRVC email broadcasts click on the link below.

 https://signup.e2ma.net/signup/1904207/1777538/

Finally, emails are sometimes blocked by strong spam filters employed by an IT department. You may need to request with your IT department that the NRVC domain names, nrvc.net and catholicworldwide.com be whitelisted if this is the case.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Sr. Kathleen Branham, O.S.F. at kathleenosf@nrvc.net if you need assistance identifying the issue.  We want to make sure that you are receiving communications from the National Office.
