National Board Nominations due January 31, 2026

The National Board is the governing body of the National Religious Vocation Conference

Nominations for the NRVC Board are now open, and you are invited to prayerfully consider inquiring about serving by completing a Board Member Interest Intake Form or by nominating another NRVC member to serve on the National Board beginning in the Fall of 2026. 

At its spring meeting, the National Board selects new members from nominations for a three-year term beginning in September 2026. The Board seeks to bring skills and experience to ensure a balance of gender, geographical, and cultural representation to represent the breadth and diversity of religious vocations in the Church.

The number of new members selected each year will be determined by the number of vacancies on the Board and by the need to maintain a Board of between 8 and 12 members (NRVC Bylaws, Article I, Section D; 2 & 3).

In your own reflections or in your consideration of others for membership on the Board, please be mindful of the following criteria for Board membership. Board members must:

• Be a member of NRVC to promote the mission and objectives of the NRVC.
• Have knowledge of NRVC, its team leadership structure, and goals.
• Should be able to represent NRVC to related organizations.
• Provide leadership to NRVC and direction to the National Office staff regarding service, interculturality, development, finances, etc.
• Prioritize attendance at Board meetings—two meetings a year (three days plus two travel days). Travel, accommodations, and meals are reimbursed by the NRVC.
• Have collaborative, listening, and consensus decision-making skills.
• Be well prepared for meetings and willing to do follow up.
• Be willing to be on a Standing Committee as well as serve on ad hoc task forces.
• Attend the biennial Convocation using Congregational funding for travel, registration, and accommodations.
• Must be able to respect confidentiality.

Consider the possibility of service to NRVC and our constituents by completing a Board Member Interest Intake Form by January 31, 2026. If you are nominating another NRVC member, please contact them first before sending in the Board Recommendation Form to make sure they are open to being nominated. The Board will interview all who are nominated by phone and make its selections at its spring  Board meeting.
